The METADATA_UPDATE notification fires when you change subscription metadata through the Advanced Commerce API Change Subscription Metadata endpoint. It applies only to apps that use Advanced Commerce.
When does it fire?
This notification triggers after a successful metadata change on an Advanced Commerce subscription — for example, updating descriptors or other server-managed subscription fields.
Payload highlights
The notification includes the signed transaction and renewal info for the affected subscription so you can confirm which product and subscriber were updated.
How Yeethook helps
Advanced Commerce changes happen on your server, not in App Store Connect. Yeethook still posts the confirmation to Slack or Discord so support and billing teams see metadata updates next to the rest of the subscription lifecycle.
Common use cases
- Confirm a metadata change reached Apple
- Audit Advanced Commerce subscription edits
- Keep your team's channel aligned with server-driven catalog updates
